The U.S. TV and video advertising market is entering a new phase of AI adoption. AI is moving beyond isolated workflow automation into planning, activation, measurement, optimization and commercial decision-making across advanced TV, CTV, streaming and programmatic video. AI is therefore changing advanced television and video advertising less through any single application than by lowering the cost of coordinating decisions across the campaign lifecycle. Systems can now translate briefs into plans, create and adapt assets, construct audiences, configure campaigns, reconcile measurement data, diagnose delivery problems, recommend optimizations and, within defined limits, execute approved actions. When these functions connect data and systems across organizations, AI moves beyond a productivity tool and becomes part of the market’s coordination infrastructure.
This report draws on presentations and discussions at CIMM’s AI Innovations Showcase held in June 2026, subsequent stakeholder discussions, and related CIMM work on marketing mix modeling, media quality, identity infrastructure and data collaboration. Participating industry leaders supplied the frameworks, case studies, quantitative evidence and perspectives examined here. The Showcase included production capabilities, pilots and demonstrations spanning creative generation, brief-to-plan workflows, audience construction, measurement-data mapping, campaign diagnostics, streaming optimization and agent-to-platform execution. These examples indicate that AI is beginning to coordinate decisions across the advertising lifecycle, although maturity and scale vary by use case.
The report’s central argument is that AI will increase the operational importance of measurement, identity, media-quality evidence, data collaboration and governance. The policy question is how to capture the benefits of faster coordination without weakening privacy, competition, commercial choice or accountability.
